Go through your emails and delete any unnecessary ones. This includes old newsletters, spam emails, and unnecessary attachments. By clearing out your inbox, you can free up space and improve the overall performance of Outlook 365.

Empty the Deleted Items Folder

After deleting emails, don’t forget to empty the Deleted Items folder. When you delete emails, they are moved to the Deleted Items folder and continue to take up space in your mailbox. Emptying this folder will permanently remove the deleted emails and reclaim storage space.

Note: If you’re worried about accidentally deleting important emails, you can create a backup of your mailbox before emptying the Deleted Items folder.

Archive Old Emails

Consider archiving old emails that you don’t need immediate access to. Archiving moves these emails to a separate file or folder, reducing the size of your mailbox while still allowing you to access the emails if needed. This can be especially useful for emails with large attachments that you no longer need to keep in your main mailbox.

Note: Be sure to create a reliable backup for your archived emails in case you need to retrieve them in the future.

To archive old emails in Outlook 365, you can follow these steps:

Step 1: Create Archive Folders

First, you will need to create archive folders within Outlook to organize the archived emails. You can create different folders based on your preferences, such as by year, month, or category.

To create a new folder, go to the “Folder” tab in the Outlook ribbon and click on “New Folder.” Give the folder a name that indicates its purpose, such as “Archive 2019.”

Step 2: Move Emails to Archive Folders

Next, you can start moving old emails to the archive folders you created. To do this, select the emails you want to archive by holding the “Ctrl” key while clicking on them. Once selected, right-click and choose “Move” from the context menu, then select the desired archive folder.

You can also drag and drop emails into the archive folders if you prefer a more visual method of moving them.

Step 3: Set up AutoArchive

If you have a large number of old emails to archive, manually moving each one can be time-consuming. Outlook offers an AutoArchive feature that can automatically move emails to the archive folders based on specific criteria.

To set up AutoArchive, go to the “File” tab in the Outlook ribbon, select “Options,” and then choose “Advanced” from the sidebar. Under the “AutoArchive” section, click on “AutoArchive Settings.” Here, you can customize how often Outlook should autoarchive, which folders to include, and how old the emails should be before they are archived.

Step 4: Accessing Archived Emails

Once you have archived your old emails, you can still access them whenever needed. The archived folders will appear in the folder list on the left-hand side of the Outlook window. Simply click on the desired archive folder to view its contents.

Keep in mind that archived emails may take a bit longer to load since they are stored in a separate location. However, the overall performance of Outlook 365 should improve as it is no longer burdened with a large volume of emails.

Benefits of Archiving Old Emails:

The first step in installing Office 365 on Ubuntu is to ensure you have the necessary software and tools. One key component is an application called Wine, which allows you to run Windows software on Linux. By installing Wine, you can create an environment on your Ubuntu machine that mimics a Windows system, making it possible to run Office 365 smoothly.

System Requirements

Before installing Microsoft Office 365 on Ubuntu, make sure your system meets the following requirements:

On the other hand, the Student version of Office does not include ongoing support or updates. This version is a one-time purchase, so you won’t have access to customer support in the same way that Office 365 subscribers do. Additionally, updates to the software may not be included with the Student version, meaning you could miss out on new features and improvements.

It’s worth noting that while the Student version may not offer the same level of support and updates as Office 365, it does have its own benefits. The pricing of the Student version is typically lower, making it more affordable for students on a tight budget. Additionally, the Student version includes the core Office applications, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, which are essential for academic work.

Once you install Office on your device, you can use most of its features offline. However, to take advantage of online collaboration and cloud-based storage options, internet connectivity is still necessary.

With an internet connection, Office for Student users can easily save their files to the cloud and access them from different devices. This can be particularly beneficial for students who need to switch between their personal computer, school computer, or a shared device.

However, if your security needs are more basic and you’re primarily concerned about data encryption, then Student may be sufficient for your needs.

It’s also important to consider pricing when making your decision. Office 365 generally has a higher subscription cost compared to Student, so you’ll need to weigh the additional security features against the pricing difference. Ultimately, the right choice will depend on your specific security needs and budget.

While you don’t have the benefit of regular updates and new features with Office Student, you still get the core Office applications like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. This is ideal for students who primarily need these applications for their academic work and don’t require the additional features and services offered by Office 365.

Overall, the choice between Office 365 and Office Student comes down to your specific needs and preferences. If you value regular updates, additional features, and the ability to use Office on multiple devices, then Office 365 is the better option. On the other hand, if you prefer a one-time purchase and only need the core Office applications on one device, then Office Student may be the right choice for you.

Integration with Other Tools: Office 365 vs Student

When considering which option is right for you, it’s important to take into account how well each platform integrates with other tools and services you may already be using. Both Office 365 and Office Student offer various integration capabilities, but there are some key differences to consider.

Office 365 Integration

Office 365 is designed to seamlessly integrate with other Microsoft products and services, such as SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams. This provides a cohesive ecosystem where you can easily collaborate and share documents with others. With the subscription-based model of Office 365, you also have access to regular updates and new features as they are released, ensuring that you stay up-to-date with the latest tools and technologies.

Furthermore, Office 365 offers integration with third-party cloud services, allowing you to connect with popular apps like Salesforce and Dropbox. This flexibility makes it easier to work across different platforms and utilize the tools that best fit your needs.

Office Student Integration

On the other hand, Office Student is a more streamlined version of Office that is primarily focused on the core productivity tools, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. While it may not offer the same level of integration with other Microsoft products and services, it still provides a solid foundation for creating and editing documents.

If you are already heavily invested in a specific ecosystem or prefer using other productivity tools and services outside of the Microsoft realm, then the limited integration capabilities of Office Student may not be a major drawback for you.

That being said, it’s worth noting that both Office 365 and Office Student can integrate with various third-party apps and services, such as project management tools and communication platforms. However, Office 365 generally offers a wider range of integration options due to its broader feature set and subscription-based model.

Conclusion

When it comes to integration with other tools, Office 365 has a clear advantage over Office Student. The subscription-based model and extensive integration capabilities make it the preferred choice for those who need to collaborate across different platforms and utilize a wide range of productivity tools. However, if you primarily rely on the core Office applications and don’t require extensive integration with other tools, Office Student can still be a suitable option at a lower price point.

Final Verdict: Office 365 vs Student

After a thorough comparison of Office 365 and Student, it is clear that both options offer valuable features and benefits to users. However, the choice between the two ultimately depends on individual needs and preferences.

For those who require access to the full suite of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook, as well as additional tools like OneNote and Access, Office 365 is the more comprehensive option. With its subscription-based pricing model, users can enjoy the latest updates and improvements to the software.

On the other hand, if budget is a concern and a user’s primary focus is on basic Office functionality, then the more affordable Student version may be sufficient. While it lacks some of the advanced features found in Office 365, it still provides access to essential tools like Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OneNote.

Office 365 Benefits:

  • Access to the full suite of Microsoft Office applications
  • Additional tools like OneNote and Access
  • Regular updates and improvements

Student Benefits:

  • More affordable pricing
  • Access to essential Office tools

In conclusion, both Office 365 and Student offer valuable options for users. The decision ultimately comes down to the specific needs and budget of the individual.
